School and Group Visits

The House of Assembly welcomes school groups, civic organizations, and community groups to learn more about Anguilla’s system of government and the role of the legislature. Guided visits provide an opportunity to explore the Chamber, understand how laws are made, and discover how Members of the Assembly represent the people. These programs are designed to encourage civic education, allowing students and visitors to engage directly with the democratic process. Teachers and group leaders are encouraged to arrange visits in advance so that sessions can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of each group.

Visiting the Public Gallery

If you visit while the House is in Session, you will be guided to the Public Gallery to observe the proceedings. Visitors are reminded that certain rules of decorum must be observed at all times:

  • As a mark of respect, visitors should bow to the Speaker upon silently entering and leaving the Public Gallery.
  • Visitors must remain seated throughout the sitting and maintain complete silence.
  • Cameras, telephones, computers, food, and drinks are not permitted in the Public Gallery.
  • Notes of the proceedings may not be taken, except by registered press officers in the Press Gallery.

Additional rules are outlined in the Speaker’s Rules.
