Biography

Mr Cardigan Connor is a highly respected Anguillan athlete, dedicated public servant, and community leader with a distinguished career in professional cricket.

Born in West End, he received his early education at the West End Primary School and the Valley Secondary School in Anguilla before furthering his studies at Langley College in England.

Mr. Connor’s professional cricket career is a point of national pride. He made his first-class debut on a memorable day—Anguilla Day, May 30th, 1984, for the Hampshire County Cricket Club. He went on to have an impressive tenure, playing for over 14 years in the highly competitive English First Class Cricket league.

Following his notable professional career, Mr. Connor felt a strong desire to give back to the Anguillan community through sport. In the early 1990s, he returned to the island, dedicating himself to the promotion and development of cricket at the grassroots level, specifically working to introduce and nurture the sport within local schools. This commitment marked the beginning of his service focused on developing the next generation of Anguillan athletes and youth overall.
